FMI Midwinter 2019: Four Can’t-Miss Events at This Year’s Conference

FMI Midwinter is just around the corner and everyone at RSi is excited to be participating again at the retail industry’s signature event. In addition to the “top to top” meetings with CPG and retailer leaders and social/charitable programs that RSi will be involved with at Midwinter, we will also be sharing our thought leadership and expertise at key educational sessions being held during the FMI event in Miami. Take a look below at what we have planned for FMI, and let us know what you’re looking forward to by tweeting us @ThisIsRSi, using the hashtag #FMIMidwinter.

The Panels

On the agenda this year are some really compelling keynotes and panels covering everything from the future of retail and grocery to the influence of AI in the industry. The first panel of interest is “Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning in Grocery” where members of Google, SAP, Accenture, and Eversight will discuss the implications of implementing these technologies, from supply chain to customer marketing, and the business insights benefits that come from it.

Up next for panels we don’t want to miss is Part One of “Mastering the Imperatives of Digital Success.” In this discussion, representatives from A.T. Kearney, Nielsen, The Dialogic Group, and Jim Smits, RSi’s own VP of Retail Development, North America, will delve into the growth and potential of omnichannel shopping in 2019 as well as the importance of retailer readiness for this fundamental shift in the retailing landscape.

The Tech Talks

New to FMI Midwinter this year is the Tech@Midwinter program, which includes opportunities to meet with tech service providers as well as multiple thought leadership talks on the many ways emerging technologies are making a lasting impact on the retail industry. Among the talks will be a presentation by Kirk W. Wheeler, RSi’s SVP of Global Sales and Marketing, who will discuss how you can use data and analytics to gain insights into, and then optimize, field team activities. As Kirk outlines in his talk, the overarching goal is to drive increased sales and profits, while significantly lowering operating costs.

The After Parties

While every night at FMI Midwinter will have an event, the can’t-miss party this year is Pepsico’s “A Little Bit Country, A Little Bit Rock’n Roll” star-studded barbecue that is taking place on Friday, Jan. 26. Southern cuisine, craft cocktails and a performance by a Grammy Award Nominee makes this event one you won’t want to miss out on!

Here’s wishing everyone a successful, fun and memorable FMI Midwinter 2019! If you’re interested in meeting with our RSi team while you’re at the FMI event, please send us an email at ([email protected]). We look forward to seeing you there!
