With New Partnership, Retail Solutions to Address One of the Fastest Growing Retail Markets and Extend Global Coverage

Mountain View, CA. and Moscow, Russia, May 15, 2012 – Retail Solutions Inc., the leading provider of technology that helps consumer-product companies create value from retailer data, today announced that it is now able to offer services and local support to the CPG and retail community in Russia and the CIS.

To deliver services in Russia, Retail Solutions has partnered with ‘OOO RSi’, a Russian company formed to deliver and support the Retail Solutions Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform in the region.

“Russia is a large and rapidly growing market, with significant consolidation and development in Modern Trade changing the dynamics for both retailers and consumer goods companies,” explained Danny Eldridge, General Director, OOO RSi. “CPG companies in Russia are eager to maximize the opportunity this market represents, and collaboration with major local and international retailers is one of the most effective ways to achieve this goal.”

“Retail Solutions is pursuing an aggressive expansion across European countries,” added Cédric Guyot, General Manager Europe at Retail Solutions. “Russia is the next country our customers are requesting us to support, as a component of our enterprise deployments. Retail Solutions is now rolling out across continents, and we are ramping up both the global and local support and consulting capabilities to ensure we consistently deliver a high ROI rather than a simple technology platform.”

Before the end of 2012, the Retail Solutions platform will be available in French, Spanish, Italian, German, Chinese and Russian. The company already supports its worldwide customers (5×24) from three support centers in China, United Kingdom and the United States.

“More than 20% of Retail Solutions revenues currently come from outside of the United States, up from 2% a year ago, and this percentage is growing at a fast pace,” concluded Peter Rieman, Chief Operating Officer at Retail Solutions. “We continue to look at all options to deliver against the global aspirations of our customers: after having earlier successfully expanded through direct subsidiaries and M&A, entering Russia through a partnership with a local company is a new way to address a new market for Retail Solutions.”

Retail Solutions in Russia can be reached at Moscow, 119180, ul. B. Polyanka, 7/10, building 3, premise 2, office 17, by telephone at +7-903-519-8114, or by email at danny.eldridge@retailsolutions.com.

“Vendor Pulse” Program Mirrors the Successful Implementation of Similar Program at Delhaize US, Focused on Improving Supplier Collaboration

Mountain View, CA, USA - Retail Solutions Inc., the leading solution provider helping consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies create value from operational downstream data, today announced the official launch of Delhaize Belgium’s Vendor Pulse, a collaborative data sharing program aimed at improving the effectiveness of the partnership between Delhaize Belgium and its suppliers.

With Vendor Pulse, Delhaize Belgium, a leading Belgian retailer with over 800 stores in Belgium and Luxembourg, will share sales and inventory data for its integrated stores by day, by store and by product with its suppliers, to help them better plan, operate and measure their joint operations with Delhaize Belgium.

“To provide our shoppers with the best possible experience, Delhaize Belgium is launching Vendor Pulse as a foundation to more effective partnerships with our suppliers,” said Xavier Ury, Vice President, Procurement Support,Quality and Supply Chain, Delhaize Belgium. “We strongly believe that Delhaize Belgium and its suppliers both have a strong role to play in improving customer satisfaction: data sharing will create a single version of the truth as we work with our suppliers to help satisfy the need of every shopper every day, in every store.”

With Vendor Pulse, suppliers will gain access to near-real time, detailed visibility over the performance of their products in every Delhaize store. This will enable them to be more responsive to shopper behavior, drive better on-shelf availability, maximize the productivity of inventory and design promotions and assortments better fit to market trends.

Vendor Pulse will be operated by Retail Solutions, who also powers the program at Delhaize US. Delhaize Belgium and Retail Solutions will leverage the experience gained in an initial pilot with two suppliers to optimize the quality of the shared data as well as design and execute effective collaborative processes with all suppliers.

“Retailers like Delhaize Belgium are on the forefront of supply chain and category management innovation in Europe,” added Cédric Guyot, General Manager Europe, Retail Solutions. “In a highly competitive marketplace, both retailers and suppliers are looking for sources of competitive differentiation and operational efficiencies: data sharing provides opportunities to achieve both, and we look forward to supporting Delhaize as we ramp up the Vendor Pulse program.”

Concluded Ury: “Selecting Retail Solutions as the foundation for that program was the natural decision, based on the positive experience we already had in the United States. We look forward to replicating this success with our vendor community in Belgium.”

About Delhaize

Mountain View, CA - Retail Solutions Inc., the leading provider of technology that helps consumer product companies create value from retailer data, today announced that Robert Bosch Tool Corporation has selected its platform to deliver actionable insights and alerts to improve assortments, product availability, new item retail launches and promotion effectiveness.

“Without up-to-date visibility on where and how fast products sell, we are left in the blind,” said Joseph Serpico, Category Manager at Bosch. “We partnered with Retail Solutions to ensure that every decision Bosch takes, both at headquarters and in the field, is driven by the most current situation in every store, for every product, every day.”

Retail Solutions will manage sales and inventory data by day, by product and by store for five retailers on behalf of Bosch, and will translate this data into information to drive and execute more effective retail strategies, from category management to supply chain and from marketing to store execution.

Said Retail Solutions Vice-President of Sales, Alex Hase: “Downstream retailer data and the capabilities to manage it effectively are fast becoming pervasive in the Home Improvement channel: we look forward to supporting Bosch in its journey towards shelf-driven retail execution.”

Bosch, a global manufacturer of tools such as Bosch, SKIL, Dremel, RotoZip, and Vermont American, is rolling out Retail Solutions across its North American category management and customer team organization to provide faster, more accurate and more detailed insights to its retail customers.

Added Serpico: “After an exhaustive evaluation process, we selected Retail Solutions as our enterprise partner because they offer the strongest set of capabilities as well as a great knowledge of how to translate data into insights at each retailer. Their leadership in this area is quite clear to us.”

Bosch will begin roll out of Retail Solutions immediately, leveraging its cutting-edge, software-as-a-service (SaaS) delivery model to maximize speed and minimize capital and IT investment.

Transaction to Consolidate Retail Solutions’ Global Leadership in Retail Execution Management – Retail Insight Retailer-Focused Division to Remain Independent

Mountain View, CA - Retail Solutions Inc., the leading solution provider helping consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies create value from operational downstream data, today announced that it has acquired the supplier-focused division of Retail Insight, a UK-based retail and consumer goods performance improvement expert. Retail Insight will continue to independently operate its global retailer business.

“This transaction creates the global leader in Retail Execution Management,” said Jonathan Golovin, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Retail Solutions. “CPG manufacturers are increasingly seeking an enterprise-wide, global solution to manage near-real time, granular point-of-sale information. Retail Insight’s supplier-focused division and Retail Solutions are the dominant players in their respective domestic markets and the combination helps build the international solution provider the market needs today.”

The newly merged business will continue operating under the Retail Solutions name and will deliver a comprehensive platform to help its more than 500 customers deliver a tangible ROI from retailer data:

A wide-ranging solution leveraging downstream data to optimize on-shelf availability, promotion management, field sales management, forecasting and replenishment, inventory management and category management

Deep expertise managing data from over 40 retailers across 25 countries

More than 210 employees exclusively focused on Retail Execution Management in 11 offices worldwide

Retail Insight’s business serving global retailers and global CPG strategic planning and consultancy solutions will remain an independent entity operating under the Retail Insight name. Retail Solutions’ new European headquarters will be based in Richmond where Retail Insight’s supplier-centric business currently operates from.

“More and more downstream retailer data is available in Europe,” added Cédric Guyot, General Manager Europe, Retail Solutions. “CPG leaders have understood the competitive advantage associated with downstream data and have started leveraging it to build more effective partnerships with their retail customers today. This merger will enable Retail Solutions to deliver improved support, offer wider retailer coverage and increase the speed to value for our customers across all major countries in Europe. We expect this combination to accelerate the adoption of Retail Execution Management in Europe.”

“Retail Solutions’ strategy is to build the first global, fast-growing and profitable Software-as-a-Service solution provider to the CPG industry,” concluded Peter Rieman, Chief Operating Officer, Retail Solutions. “This merger helps us consolidate the marketplace and reinforces our position as the leader in our core markets in America and in Europe. We look forward to complementing our organic growth by pursuing more acquisitions on a global basis.”

The transaction will take the form of an asset transfer.

Company Sees Accelerating Demand for Downstream Data Management Services in Both North American and International Markets

Mountain View, CA - Retail Solutions Inc., the leading solution provider helping consumer packaged goods (CPG) manufacturers create value from operational downstream data, today announced it is now managing retailer data on behalf of 500 companies on its Retail Execution Management platform.

“More and more CPG companies today understand how a corporate approach to managing retailer data can help both their customer teams and their headquarter functions perform more effectively,” said Jonathan Golovin, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Retail Solutions. “Retail Solutions’ relentless focus on ROI and innovation has helped us become the clear industry leader in our field, both in terms of the number of customers we serve and in the depth of the services we provide to help them deliver on the promise of retailer data.”

Retail Solutions delivers the industry’s most utilized Retail Execution Management platform. On behalf of its customers, the company collects, cleanses and harmonizes downstream data, such as Point-of-Sale (POS) and inventory data by day, by store and by SKU, and translates it into actionable alerts and insights to drive sales growth, inventory reduction and margin.

Its unique combination of a robust, scalable data management capability associated with a set of proprietary, science-based applications helps CPG companies identify and correct out-of-stocks, design and execute more effective promotions and new product launches and drive more effective forecasting and replenishment programs taking into the reality of every product at every store, every day.

Reaching this milestone reinforces Retail Solutions’ clear leadership position in its market:

22 of the top 25 global CPG companies trust Retail Solutions to support their Retail Execution Management initiatives

Retail Solutions manages retailer data coming from 35 retailers in the United States, Canada and Europe, including 9 of the top 10 American retailers

“We expect this momentum to accelerate,” added Peter Rieman, Chief Operating Officer, Retail Solutions. “In the past few months, several major retailers have embraced data-sharing as a way to drive collaboration with their vendors, both in North America and in Europe. The capabilities we offer are fast becoming a standard corporate practice to help CPG companies build true partnerships with their customers.”

Mountain View, CA - Retail Solutions Inc., the leading solution provider helping consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies create value from operational downstream data, today announced that Pharmavite, LLC, a trusted leader in the wellness industry and the manufacturer and marketer of Nature Made® vitamins, minerals, herbs and other supplements and SOYJOY® nutrition bars, has selected its Retail Execution Management platform to transform retailer data into actionable insights & alerts.

“Retail Solutions provides automated, real time reporting, alerts & analytical tools to drive greater understanding of the business across our organization,” said Dave Larson, Divisional Vice President, Pharmavite. “We also believe it will help field sales be more productive and focus on value creation and growth for our customer rather than hours spent acquiring and mining data in spreadsheets.”

Pharmavite will leverage several components of the Retail Solutions’ suite, including:

Retail Intelligence, the most widely-used solution in the industry to navigate downstream data down to the store-item-day in a use case-centric, intuitive business intelligence platform

Promotion Analytics, a comprehensive set of advanced indicators to better control the end-to-end promotion planning, design, execution optimization and post-mortem analysis process

Category Analytics, to enable category advisors to seamlessly analyze full category data at the lowest level of granularity

“One of the key issues category leaders face when dealing with retailer data is how to handle massive amounts of information and convert it into repeatable, actionable processes,” said John Kacedan, Retail Channel Director, Retail Solutions. “Thanks to its role-specific, use case-centric templates, Retail Intelligence helps each function leverage every insight included in retailer data without getting lost in the details.”

Pharmavite will start to use Retail Solutions immediately, thanks to its no-investment, no-delay, no-hassle Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model.

Company to Leverage Retail Solutions Demographic Data to Drive Store Performance both at Headquarters and in the Field

Mountain View, CA - Retail Solutions Inc., the leading solution provider helping manufacturers and suppliers to the retail industry create value from operational downstream data, today announced that Schneider Electric, one of the leaders in electricity and automation management, has selected its platform to support its business with Home Depot for its Square D by Schneider Electric products.

“We spend a significant amount of time directly in the stores at Home Depot,” explained Adriane Breiner, National Sales Manager, Schneider Electric. “We partnered with Retail Solutions to better monitor and explain variations in store performance and improve the productivity and the effectiveness of our field sales teams.”

Schneider Electric will use Retail Solutions’ award winning Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), solution for retail visibility, to statistically index sales according to Retail Solutions’ unique geo-demographic attributes while accounting for the effects of NEMA® electrical codes surrounding each store.

“Knowing exactly, in real time, what products are carried and sell in each store is already a great improvement over what most suppliers have today,” said Brian Kay, Channel Director, Home Improvement at Retail Solutions. “Complementing this visibility with additional information such as store demographics to explain WHY it’s selling provides insights into the consumer that simply aren’t readily available elsewhere at the individual store and item level.”

Schneider Electric will leverage that information to improve the effectiveness of its customer team at both headquarters and the field level:

Regional managers will leverage Retail Solutions reporting capabilities to optimize assortment and systematically measure store performance to understand which outlets require the most attention, enabling them to build automated to-do-lists for each store visit, identifying out-of-stock situations, store execution issues, and inventory accuracy;

Headquarter calls will benefit from the increased visibility into overall business performance and opportunities for improvement.

“We believe that winning at retail requires differentiated capabilities,” added Breiner. “Retail Solutions provides us with the ability to not only better understand what drives our business and the assortment opportunities we should leverage, but also to more proactively drive execution at the store level to make sure we capture every single dollar of sales, delight the shopper and continue to build a more productive relationship with Home Depot.”

Schneider Electric will start to use Retail Solutions immediately, thanks to its no-investment, no-delay, no-hassle SaaS model.

“Our strategy is about becoming an Indispensable Partner to our customers,” explained Don Quigley, President of North America Consumer Sales and Customer Development for Kimberly-Clark. “Delivering faster, more accurate insights through implementation of Retail Solutions will allow us to strengthen our partnerships with our retail customers and enhance the experience we jointly create for consumers.”

Retail Solutions provides services to help customers focus on:

Gaining a more accurate business understanding of what drives and hinders the business, by retailer and across retailers

Correcting and preventing out-of-stocks at the store

Maximizing the return of every promotional dollar, from event design and planning to execution and ROI measurement

Optimizing the execution of new item launches

Further improving their category management skills and insights

“We see more and more leaders in the CPG industry understanding that Retail Execution Management needs to be deployed at the enterprise level,” commented Jon Golovin, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Retail Solutions. “As up-to-date, detailed data is now available across all major retailers, it becomes necessary for CPG companies to look at downstream data at a strategic, corporate level rather than at a tactical, team-by-team level.”

Kimberly-Clark will begin roll out of the RSi solution immediately leveraging Retail Solutions’ Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) delivery model to maximize speed and minimize capital and IT investment.

Leading Wire and Cable Supplier to Leverage Retail Solutions Services to Increase Visibility into Sales at the Store Level in Near-Real Time

Mountain View, CA - Retail Solutions Inc., the leading solution provider helping manufacturers and suppliers to the retail industry create value from operational downstream data, today announced that Southwire Company, one of North America’s largest wire and cable producers, has selected Retail Solutions’ platform to support Southwire’s business with Home Depot.

“Our business would benefit from a simple, user-friendly, flexible reporting solution at the most detailed level,” explained Kirk Sutterfield, Vice President Retail Sales, Southwire. “Retail Solutions offered the best solution, with a seemingly painless and quick delivery combined with the features we need to understand how to maximize the potential of each of our products at Home Depot stores.”

Retail Solutions provides a comprehensive data visibility and analysis solution across more than 30 leading retailers in the United States and in Europe. More than 700 customer teams have implemented Retail Solutions’ proprietary Retail Execution Management solutions and best practices to improve their business at retail.

“We are pleased to see more and more suppliers in the Home Improvement channel adopt the Retail Solutions approach,” said Karl Waldman, Vice-President of Customer Operations, Retail Solutions. “Our customers are seeing tangible results in multiple areas: from on-shelf availability to store-level micro-assortment and from forecasting accuracy to in-store execution compliance, we have found many opportunities to grow sales and improve the partnership between manufacturers and their customers.”

Over the past 60 years, Southwire has established itself as a market leader in the wire and cable industry by providing innovative, high quality products and services with unsurpassed fill-rates and lead times to customers seeking a complete line of quality products from a single supplier.

“We offer a very complex assortment of products, with numerous SKUs at Home Depot,” added Sutterfield. “The large amount of EDI and data across nearly 2,000 stores quickly became overwhelming. With Retail Solutions, we feel that we now have a solution to transform this data into easy-to-digest and actionable information to help our team make the best decision at every level of every process.”

Southwire will start to use Retail Solutions immediately, thanks to Retail Solutions’ no-investment, no-delay, no-hassle Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model.
